MajorCraft JigPara Vertical Long is a classic deepwater metal jig built for fast, vertical presentations on hard-fighting offshore species. Its long, streamlined profile delivers a wide sliding action on the lift, followed by an unpredictable, irregular fall that triggers reaction bites from kingfish and other deepwater predators. Available in weights from 100–300g, it’s perfectly suited for deep dropping, heavy current and probing reef structure.

How to work it

The JigPara Vertical Long is a deep-dropping metal jig designed for vertical jigging in waters 10-30 m deep.

Cast or drop to depth, then work it with sharp, rhythmic lifts of the rod tip-the long profile generates a wide, aggressive slide on the ascent. Allow it to flutter and fall irregularly between lifts; this unpredictable descent often triggers strikes from kingfish and other hard-fighting offshore species.

Pair it with heavy braid and a solid overhead or baitcaster to maintain direct contact and feel the jig's action through the water column.

In strong current or when targeting structure, heavier weights (200-300 g) help you stay vertical and work the jig efficiently at depth.
