Awesome rod. Have used this from softbaiting, shore jigging to eging. Great all round rod nice and light with plenty of grunt. Have caught squid, snapper, trevally and kahawai on this rod so far, am looking at adding more species to the list for this one.
Awesome little bag. I use mine to hold a spare set of light game gear whislt traveling. Holds plenty of gear for the size. Build quality is great and robust.
Chasing yellow belly flounder in Gizzy. Love these Z-man micro finesse soft baits. Not the first time I’ve purchased them from Monster Fishing and won’t be the last.
Hi, have been using this new rod for bout 3 weeks now and have really been enjoying it, it is a very lite weight which is what i was after, and has an incredibly fine tip section for "finesse" fishing, I got this fat brown in some weed beds, great condition. As i was reeling it in it was fighting to get off, jumping etc -- and while doing this my braid has some how wrapped around the tip of the rod or the 2nd to last guide caused the line to tighten and snap the tip off 😵💫 at the 2nd to last guide- back luck or fault at the guide🤷♂️ this is a very lite weight rod, maybe i should have gone for one a little more robust🤷♂️ A side from that this rod has been alot of fun, but is now a $485 stick in the corner of the garage. So i probably wouldn't recommend this rod as although it was a pleasure to use, the tip is incredibly delicate- but if you look through the yamaga trout rods monster fishing stock there will be something slightly more robust, these are really well made rods. My experience with monster fishing has been great, i rang before i bought the rod and spoke to the salesman who was very helpful, prompt replies to emails, product ship and arrived in good time, i would shop here again.
Second time soft bating with new Monster Fishing kit (Vanford 2500 reel) and Assassin Allure rod. Caught this big fella, would have released him but took me 20 minutes and he was done. Even my German Shepherd was stunned!
Great pack to get started with wether its river or lake fishing. Basic kit comes with softbaits, jig heads, secret sauce and a handy waterproof case. Highly recommend.
With a decent amount of use over the 3 weeks i have had these chairs in the dirt sand and mud and im just over 100kg feels sturdy and still in great working condition completly happy with them definitly worth it and the guys at monster fishing are great to deal with aswell over all 10/10 Thanks!
Knife was blunt. Shruggled to cut anything up near the front third. Don't know what was used to sharpen it but it had waves along the edge like a round file or something was used. Highly disappointed
I’ve been running the Next Ocean 50 overhead reel for slow pitch jigging and it’s seriously impressed me. The oversized handle makes a big difference, especially when you’re working jigs slowly and need that extra control and comfort over long sessions.
For the price, it’s outstanding value. The build quality feels solid and it’s got plenty of power when it counts. I’ve pulled in some great fish with it, working depths from 20 metres right down to 120 metres, including a solid 20 pounder from around 90 metres. It handled all of that without any issues.
What stands out most is how smooth it is under load. No jerking, no rough spots, just consistent performance. The auto-engaging system makes it so simple to use, almost feels unfair on the fish.
It’s also tougher than it looks, this reel can take a beating and it hasn’t let me down once.
Pair it with a good braid like X-Braid 30lb and you’ve got a seriously capable setup without spending a fortune. Great bit of gear.
The Next Ocean50 might be built for slow-jigging snapper — but don’t be fooled. When kingfish turn up (and they always do), this reel steps up without hesitation.
At Snap Fishing Ventures, our gear has to handle anything our clients hook into. The Ocean50 delivers the power, smoothness, and reliability we demand — session after session.
Simple really… we only use the best, and this reel has earned its place on deck.
Cheers Capt Nik
I were using hole. Yellow tail witch we're caught on the hayabusa sabiki witch works very well and like them very much easy.
Use kingfisher posiedon 7f 9-15kg rods with 8000 nexeve 40pound j-braid on hook size we're 9o bkk and had a 4ons sinker on main line
Chasing big snapper on slowjigs. This was on a private guiding trip and I make sure my clients have the best gear for total enjoyment. The Next Ocean50 reel has been used on my charters for over 7 years and they are the best quality and most reliable reel on the market for the dollars in my opinion!
Cheers Capt Nik (Snap Fishing Ventures)
Amazing rod for all round lure fishing such as Softbaiting and slow jigging, nice and light and a very crisp action on the blank. I use a Daiwa Caldia 5000 on the rod with PE2 braid and is an amazing combo. Great casting distance and super strong.
I bought these pants as tradie work pants for me and my apprentice, usually we wear bulky tradie pants, but these are really light, flexible and tuff. We got them embroided with our logo. If they do wear out one day, I will buy some more. Looking at buying some of the tops also. Cheers
Caught this 70cm Snapper using the 7” Sight Flash. Used the same soft bait for the last four trips and still going strong. Have landed many snapper on the same lure, It’s now my go to colour
Beautiful rod!. Managed to snag one on special. Very sensitive tip section and strong blank. Picks up every subtle taps and bites and is a dream to cast even at 15ft and is very light weight. Have caught a few fish on this rod and have yet to put some real load on it.
Great shop!!! Happy with Product and Delivery👍🙂!!! Seller has great communication. The delivery was quicker than expected.
The product is good specially for rods with no locking ring. It prevents the reel from coming loose. . It also smoothens the grip over the thread of the reel seat.
Got this 700mm catch bag seems good with plenty of room we got 14 snapper and a gurnard catch bag wasn't as good as a chillibin but had other benefits like taking up less room in my 12ft tiny. Over all happy with it
Awesome bag. Has plenty of room for your tackle, gear and rod with the straps supplied on the side. Nice and comfy to lug around anywhere you go. Great overall product.
Great upgrade if you needing extra security whilst fighting any fish in rough terrain with UL lures. I have upgraded my standard area hooks to the black Magic inline eyes to help when trout fight dirty. These are better than adding a treble hook set as its easier on the fish if you plan to release and they do not hinder the action of the lure. Use hook sizes accordingly to what your targeting. Highly recommended and something to consider when planing to target certain species.
Perfect size boxes for my smaller hardbody lures. They have a latch on the lid to insure there are no accidental spillage whilst on the move or transporting, they're not like the traditional clip close that wear over time. Highly recommended.
Awesome lure. It has a slim profile and a short lip for a tight wobble. Lure casts exceptionally well. If you are fishing rivers or shallow streams I would recommend upgrading the area hooks to barbed inline hooks.
Caught 2 trevelly in a river with the stuff this is the smaller one. I put things in my pocket when I run out of hand this stuff doesn't make my washing smell like a seal threw up in it.
Been waiting for these to make its way into NZ. These boxes are awesome for land based fishing missions and walking the beach in surf scenarios. They come with two rods holders that fit short butt rods perfectly and you are able to pack more gear ontop of the fixed 25l box. Must have for any serious land based fisho.
