About this lure

The Uroco Original Jig is a proven performer here in NZ, its signature action fires quickly into a dart before settling into a relaxed, easy fall that fish can't resist. Tail-edge drag allows the jig to pivot sharply with very little input, giving crisp response whether you're slow pitching or pushing high-speed lifts. How to work it

The Uroco Original Jig fires into a quick dart then settles into a relaxed, easy fall, so let it work on the drop where much of the interest happens. Fish it over deep reefs and structure from 30m down, dropping to the bottom before starting your lifts. The tail-edge drag lets it pivot sharply with minimal input, so you don't need heavy-handed rod work to trigger the action.

It's a multi-technique jig. For slow pitch, work short, measured lifts and let it fall between each stroke, watching for takes on the drop. For high-speed jigging, drive faster, longer lifts to cover the water column. Match jig weight to depth and current so the jig reaches the strike zone and keeps a natural fall.

Pair with a jigging rod and reel balanced to the weight you're running, and target kingfish, tuna and demersal reef species over coastal and offshore ground.

80 g Lightest option for shallower inshore work and lighter current, giving a slow, natural fall.
120 g Inshore to mid-water depths in modest current where you still want a lively fall.
