Big Kev's Tips

How to work it

The EbiPop 165EXT is a floating blooping popper worked entirely on the surface.

Cast it out on heavy popper tackle, then use sharp downward rod sweeps to make the cupped face bloop and push water, pausing between strokes to let it settle in its tail-down stance.

Vary the cadence - a steady rhythmic bloop or aggressive spat-and-pause - until you find what triggers strikes.

At 160g it loads a heavy popper rod well and casts distance into wind, while the tail-down balance keeps it stable through chop and swell so the action stays controlled in rough water.

This is a proven GT performer, designed to call large predators up from deep water.

Pair it with a stout popping outfit, heavy braid and a strong leader to handle the load of big surface strikes in tropical big-game conditions.
