About this rod
The TC84-100G Type R is a finely tuned tuna casting rod that balances long-range accuracy, light lure performance, and the power to stop serious fish. Designed for pelagics in the 15–60kg range – with proven results on tuna over 70kg – it’s built to maximise your strike rate when fish are feeding at range or locked on to smaller bait.
Constructed from TORAYCA® T1100G carbon with Nanoalloy® resin, the TC84-100G Type R combines fast blank recovery with deep, torque-rich power. It excels with lures from 60–110g, but can still launch a 40g stickbait far enough to reach distant bait balls, or handle lures up to 150g without compromise.
Designed with the demands of long tuna fights in mind, the blank absorbs surging runs and sudden headshakes, minimising angler fatigue while maintaining control. Fitted with Zenaq’s Hexagon Reel Seat and Hexagon Grip, it offers a secure, ergonomic hold for precise lure work and confident fish-fighting.
