XBRAID – Upgrade X8 Pentagram is a premium 8-strand PE braid engineered in Japan for anglers who demand maximum strength, sensitivity, and line control. Built using YGK’s advanced WX braiding technology and Ultra 2 PE fibres, it delivers ultra-low stretch, a tight line body, and exceptional durability for both inshore and offshore fishing.

WX8 construction.

YGK WX braiding technology is woven to offer the least stretch and the tightest line body. Employing the most advanced filament, Ultra 2 PE, to achieve approximately 40% more maximum strength compared to standard spectra braided lines.

Strong and resilient.

Lines braided using the WX method have clockwise and counterclockwise twisting threads braided in opposing directions. This results in excellent balance and high linear strength. Just like twisting a rubber band, it returns to its original shape when you let go of it.

The ultimate line.

In 2019, YGK launched a double-layered PE line, in which a sheath thread is braided around a core thread using the WX method. In addition to the structural stiffness of this line's core-sheath structure, the pressurised resin treatment extends the life of the coating.
