How to fish the Yamashita - EGI OH LIVE Neon Bright
Big Kev's Tips
How to work it
Fish the EGI-OH LIVE Neon Bright with the classic egi cadence: cast out, let the jig sink to your target depth, then work it back with sharp upward rod flicks followed by a controlled pause. Squid attack on the drop, so keep contact and watch your line during each fall.
Vary the number of flicks and the length of the pause to match how the squid are feeding. Around structure, weed edges and over foul in shallow water, count the jig down and adjust your sink time to keep it in the strike zone without snagging.
This jig is built for changing light and tide, so lean on it when visibility drops or tide colour is knocking your bite around. Pair it with a light egi rod and braided mainline through a fluorocarbon leader for the sensitivity to feel subtle takes and set the barbs cleanly on squid.
