The Evergreen Dot Tail 2.5" is a finesse softbait designed for light-game fishing when baitfish are tight to the bottom. Its unique hollow spherical tail and ultra-thin fin create a subtle, lifelike action on the swim and fall, then lift and move naturally once it settles on the bottom—perfect for triggering bites from cautious fish.

How to work it

Rig the Dot Tail 2.5" on a light jighead sized to the conditions and fish it as a bottom-focused finesse bait. Cast out, let it sink, and stay in contact with the seabed-this softbait is built for working close to the bottom where baitfish hold tight.

Use a slow lift-and-drop cadence. On the fall the hollow ball tail traps air and the ultra-thin fin brakes the tail, giving a soft, lifelike action rather than a wild kick.

Once it settles, the tail stands up and moves with the water flow, so pauses on the bottom often draw the bite-let it sit and animate itself between subtle hops.

Match it to a light-game rod and fine leader for a natural presentation. It suits picky fish locked onto small bait, and works on aji, kahawai, trout and flounder when they're feeding low in the water column.
