The Smelt is a sinking micro minnow best worked through the mid column (2-10m). Cast it out, let it sink to your target depth counting it down, then use a slow, steady retrieve punctuated by light twitches to bring out its baitfish swimming action. In clear water, keep presentations subtle - the finesse profile earns strikes from cautious fish.
