About this reel

The Daiwa 20 Crest LT5000-C brings Daiwa's renowned Light & Tough (LT) concept to New Zealand shores, offering an incredibly durable yet lightweight body. Weighing in at just 285g, it is perfectly suited for casting soft baits or straylining for Snapper around the kelp beds. With its smooth ATD drag system and 12kg of stopping power, this reel will easily handle tough local predators including aggressive Kahawai and early season Trevally.

  • LT Concept Design – Reduces overall reel size and mass to minimise angler fatigue without sacrificing strength.
  • Tough Digigear – Provides smooth, enduring gear performance and powerful retrieve under heavy loads.
  • ATD Drag System – Ensures smooth line release upon hookup to protect lighter leaders against sudden runs.
  • LC-ABS Spool – Maximises casting distance and reduces line friction, perfect for firing baits further.
  • Aluminium Handle – Features a large T-shaped knob for exceptional grip during extended fights.
