About this reel

The 2026 Shimano Stella SW 5000XG is the pinnacle of spinning reel engineering, designed to conquer the harshest saltwater environments. Featuring a highly rigid Hagane body and advanced InfinityXross gearing, it delivers unparalleled cranking power and durability. For New Zealand anglers, this 5000-size XG (Extra High Gear) model is the ultimate choice for launching topwater stickbaits at aggressive kingfish or deploying heavy soft plastics for trophy snapper in the wash.

Hagane Body Construction – Provides a highly rigid metal shell that eliminates body flexing under extreme loads.
InfinityXross Gearing – Redesigned gear tooth design drastically improves gear durability and winding efficiency.
X-Protect & X-Shield – Comprehensive water resistance ensures your reel remains protected from heavy saltwater spray.
Extra High Gear (XG) – Delivers a rapid 105cm retrieve per crank, perfect for working fast-paced topwater stickbaits and poppers.
InfinityLoop Oscillation – Ensures precise line lay for effortless, long-distance casting into feeding work-ups.
Advanced HeatSink Drag – Prevents drag force reduction during blistering runs from large pelagic species.
