How to fish the Hayabusa - Jack Eye Shot Slow & Slim

Big Kev's Tips

How to work it

The Jack Eye Shot Slow & Slim is a rear-weighted slim jig built to reach the bottom in water 30m or deeper, then work back up through the column. Drop it to the seafloor, then use a steady retrieve to bring out the body's steady wobbling movement, covering a larger area on each pass. The slim profile gives a realistic swimming action rather than an erratic dart.

The rear-weighted design also casts a long way, so you can fan casts out and search ground when fish are spread. Lighter weights suit shallower or calmer conditions; step up as depth and current increase to keep contact with the bottom.

Pair it with a slow pitch or light jig outfit. The double assist hook and Sabiki assist rig lift the hook-up rate. Target snapper, gurnard and trevally working near the bottom, with kingfish and kahawai taken as the jig rises through the water column.
