About this lure

The Evergreen Caprice Neo is an evolved slow pitch jig refined from the original Caprice, retaining its signature irregular dart and unpredictable fall while delivering increased effectiveness through subtle shape adjustments by Tsunehiro Sato. By extending the distance between dart and fall, the Caprice Neo covers more water and triggers bites from wary fish in tough coastal conditions.

How to work it

Drop the Caprice Neo to the bottom in water 30m and deeper, then work it back through the lower column with slow pitch jerks.

The irregular dart and unpredictable fall are what trigger bites, so let the jig glide and flutter between lifts - pause and let it fall on a semi-slack line to make the most of the extended dart-to-fall range that covers more water.

Vary your cadence until you find what the fish respond to on the day.

This jig is a coastal all-rounder, proven on snapper, kingfish, kahawai and koheru in NZ waters. It earns its keep working wary fish in tough coastal conditions where a natural, reaction-triggering movement matters.

Match it to a slow pitch rod and slow jerker for controlled, rhythmic jerks, or switch to a high pitch jerker for faster, sharper inputs when fish want a more aggressive action.
