About this reel

The Shimano 21 Twin Power SW 14000XG is a heavy-duty powerhouse engineered for New Zealand's most punishing saltwater scenarios. Built with an ultra-rigid HAGANE Body and advanced Infinity Drive technology, it delivers effortless winding torque when battling stubborn kingfish and pelagics. Whether you are sweeping large stickbaits across topwater or deep jigging for hapuku, this reel provides the crushing 25kg drag and water-resistant durability needed to excel in harsh marine environments.

  • HAGANE Body & Gear – Provides extreme rigidity and impact resistance, ensuring structural integrity during heavy fights.
  • Infinity Drive – Reduces rotational resistance by up to 30%, resulting in effortless winding under heavy loads.
  • Heatsink Drag – Dissipates heat away from the drag washers and spool, preventing performance drop-offs during blistering pelagic runs.
  • X-Protect & X-Shield – IPX8-equivalent water resistance uses labyrinth construction to lock out harsh saltwater from internal components.
  • X-Tough Drag – Delivers a phenomenally smooth and powerful 25kg of max drag for stopping trophy fish in their tracks.
  • Silent Drive – Eliminates minute gaps and wobbles across the internal gearing for a seamlessly smooth retrieve.
