About this lure

The aim of this model is to ensure a horizontal posture even with an extremely short travel distance. Furthermore, it is also designed to maximize the time that the body is exposed to the target in a horizontal direction. Therefore, the weight balance is set to the limit where tailing is unlikely to occur. As a result, a body with balance almost in the center has been completed. By adopting a horizontal posture during the fall, the speed becomes slightly slower, and it appeals to the target slowly. The main feature is the flashing caused by the irregular fall that combines the thick and thin sides of the body.

How to fish the Palms - Slow Blatt S

Big Kev's Tips

How to work it

The Slow Blatt S is a slow pitch jig built to hold a horizontal posture on the fall, even over short travel distances. Drop it to the bottom in water 30m and deeper, then work it back up through the lower water column with slow, deliberate lifts of the rod tip, letting the jig flutter and reset horizontally on each pause.

The centred weight balance produces an irregular, flashing fall as the thick and thin sides of the body catch light. Keep contact on the drop - most takes come as the jig falls slowly and presents side-on to the target. Pair it with a slow pitch jigging rod and reel spooled to match the depth and current.

Match jig weight to depth and current so you keep bottom contact without the jig tailing. Target snapper, kingfish, gurnard and trevally holding near the bottom.
