About this lure

The Palms Slow Blatt L is the evolution of the Slow Blatt series — a long-scale slow jig that fuses stillness and movement for total control. Its compact, low-resistance body shape delivers high response to minimal input while maintaining a smooth, stable fall. Designed for slow jigging in high-pressure or deep-water conditions, it enables anglers to shift seamlessly between sharp slides and controlled drops, enticing even the most cautious fish to strike.

  • Long-scale compact design – reduces drag for sharper, more responsive jigging
  • Balanced for slow jigging – maintains smooth transitions between slide and fall
  • Dual center keels – create stability and natural flash throughout the fall
  • Hydrodynamic head shape – cuts water resistance and preserves control at all depths
  • Precise balance – designed to hold depth, resist spin, and trigger strikes
  • Versatile retrieve range – reacts instantly to short lifts or micro reeling
  • Perfect for pressured fish – ideal for snapper, trevally, and kingfish under tough bite conditions

How to fish the Palms - Slow Blatt L

Big Kev's Tips

How to work it

The Slow Blatt L is a sinking slow-pitch jig built for the bottom zone in 30m or more of water. Drop it to the seabed, then work it with short lifts of the rod tip, letting the dual centre keels and long-scale body flutter on a smooth, stable fall between each lift. Micro reeling and controlled drops let you shift between sharp slides and slow descents, keeping the jig in the strike zone where pressured fish hold.

The hydrodynamic head cuts resistance and holds depth without spinning, so it stays under control even in deep water and current. Match the weight to your depth and drift speed, pairing with a slow-pitch rod and reel loaded with braid and a fluorocarbon leader.

Under tough bite conditions, slow the cadence and use subtle rod input to trigger cautious snapper, trevally and kingfish that ignore faster presentations.

150 g A mid-light choice for moderate depth and current where you still want a slow, controlled descent.
180 g Suits mid-range depths and building current, balancing sink rate with responsive jigging.
200 g Good for deeper water or stronger drift when you need the jig to hold depth without spinning.
230 g Heavier option for deep water and stronger current, keeping bottom contact on longer drops.
300 g Heaviest weight for the deepest ground and hard current, maintaining control and depth where lighter jigs get swept.
