About this lure

The Jigaro Massive has a compact body that is about 22% downsized compared to the Jigaro. The excellent response to rod work and the resulting slide action are at a high level unique to the Jigaro family. It achieves stable flight distance even in headwinds and allows for tight control of the current, enabling new tactics for attacking fields that have been difficult to attack until now. At the same time, its small silhouette is also a trump card for cunning targets that specialize in small baits such as sardines.

How to work it

The Jigaro Massive is a compact sinking knife jig built for high-pitch jigging.

Drop it through the mid water column and count it down to the depth where fish are holding, then work it with sharp rod strokes. Its response to rod work produces a sliding action on the fall, so mix quick lifts with brief pauses to let the jig dart and glide.

The downsized body casts well even into headwinds and cuts through current, giving you tight control when working structure or drift lines. The small silhouette suits fish keyed on small baitfish like sardines.

Pair it with a jigging rod and reel matched to the weight you're throwing, using assist hooks and a leader sized for kingfish and tuna. Lighter weights suit shallower water and lighter current; step up to the heavier jigs to hold depth or punch through stronger flow and wind.
