How to work it

Fish The Dax on ultra-light jigging setups in mid-water zones from 2-10m, working harbours, estuaries and shallow coastal areas. Let the jig sink on a slack or semi-tight line so its natural slow-sinking fall does the work, then lift the rod tip and drop back to let it flutter down again - most strikes come on the fall.

Use a short lift-and-flutter cadence rather than aggressive jerks, keeping the compact profile darting and settling like a small baitfish. Vary the retrieve height in the water column until you find where fish are holding.

Pair it with a light rod, fine braid and a fluorocarbon leader to keep presentations subtle for finicky fish in clear water. This suits snapper, trevally and kahawai around coastal structure and open mid-water schools.
