The Ocean Angler Fish Fingers are designed for anglers targeting species like snapper, kingfish, trevally, kahawai, and blue cod. Their slender, hydrodynamic shape ensures a rapid descent and stability on the sea floor, making them efficient at cutting through currents and staying in the strike zone longer. The predictable rise-and-fall motion, combined with fluttering tentacles on the assist rig, creates an irresistible movement that entices strikes. Equipped with hand-bound Owner SJ-41 hooks, these jigs offer superior strength and reliability.
How to fish the Ocean Angler - Fish Finger
Big Kev's Tips
How to work it
Drop the Fish Finger straight to the bottom - this is a fast-sinking slow jig built for the bottom 30m+ zone, with a slender, hydrodynamic shape that cuts through current and reaches the strike zone quickly. Once you feel the jig touch down, engage and begin working it just off the floor where the fish are holding.
Use a slow-pitch cadence: lift the rod to send the jig up, then let it flutter back down on a controlled drop. The predictable rise-and-fall motion, paired with the fluttering tentacles on the twin assist rig, does the work - most strikes come on the fall, so stay in contact and watch your line.
Pair it with a slow-pitch jig rod and matched reel spooled with braid for feel and hook-setting at depth. The hand-bound Decoy assist hooks handle solid fish - target snapper, kingfish, trevally, kahawai and blue cod holding near structure or the sea floor.
