About this lure

Being the baby brother to the BTK, The Heat had a lot to live up to and in it’s short career it has not disappointed catching numerous blue marlin over 500lbs along with all the other usual suspects! This small cup face lure is an absolute killer when run from your rigger or shotgun position.

How to work it

The Heat is a surface-running skirted trolling lure with a small cup face, towed behind a moving boat in your spread. It runs best from the rigger or shotgun position, where it can work cleanly on the surface at trolling speed while the cup face gives it its characteristic action.

Deploy it as part of a multi-lure spread and let the cup face push and pop as the boat pulls it along. Rig with a hook in the 8/0-9/0 range and pair it with 200lb-400lb leader to match the fish it targets.

At 270mm (10.5") skirted length, this is a lure built for big pelagics - it has accounted for blue marlin over 500lbs along with other usual gamefish. Use the BS7 replacement skirt to keep it fishing when the original wears.
